1、How to finish a mobile payment solution for a vending machine with RS232-MDB adapter box?

Firstly vending machine is a MDB interface, but our payment device is a RS232 interface, for example credit card reader and Raspberry pi or computer, so we need an adapter box to connect them to vending machine and send the command to do the payment.

Secondly, we should make sure if the vending machine support MDB cashless interface.If support ,then standard RS232-MDB would be suitable . But sometimes for old vending machine that maybe doesn't support the cashless interface.then we can select the coin acceptor simulator.

2、How to connect the coin acceptor ,bill acceptor or coin validator to PC ( computer act as the master board of vending machine ) ?

For pulse type output of Coin acceptor,if want to connect to the PC,then would need to use a pulse-RS232 adapter to convert the pulse signal to RS-232 data.For wafer WF-700 and WF-700B that is used for this application. and WF-400 is used to covert pulse type data to USB data

For MDB type coin acceptor,that need to use the MDB-RS232 adapter board to convert the MDB data to PC. For wafer MDB-RS232 board,that is for this application.

3、What is the difference between MDB-RS232 and RS232-MDB ?

MDB-RS232 is used to connect the MDB bill acceptor,coin validator,cashless payment device to computer. then you will design the Software that will run in the PC and work as the master main vending controller. For example,you develop the kiosk information machine. then you need to connect the MDB bill acceptor,coin validator to computer,but you don't know how to connect the MDB interface payment device to computer, because computer only has the RS232 port, no MDB port.then you need to select the MDB-RS232 adapter (MDB-PC Adapter ).

RS232-MDB is used to connect the pc to existing vending machine.then you will need to design the Software that will run in the PC and work as the slave cashless payment device.and then you PC will work as a cashless payment device to vending machine. For example,you want to use the PC to give payment credit to existing vending machine, or if you want to make the internet connection to the vending machine and give credit to vending machine remotely, then you need to select the RS232-MDB adapter.

4、How about the wiring of coin acceptor and output?

Multi-pulse single line outout, Parallel lines output for different coins, MDB type output, RS232 type outout . In wafer products series, EU1,EU2 and SK coin acceptor,that is single line output, and HI-09 has single line output and also the parallel lines output.

5、What is the output single of coin acceptor ?What voltage of the output single of coin acceptor ?

Normally,coin acceptor output is the Open-C NPN type output,So there is no voltage output from the output line and that need to be drived to high voltage through resistance .

MDB Type coin acceptor,that is normally used in the vending machine system. from example from 如COINCO and MEI coin validators.

6、What is the NO/NC selection of coin acceptor ?(Already have drived to high through the resistance)

When select to NC,that means normally that output line is at low voltage and when have the coin signal output,then will output the high level pulse.When select to NO,that means normally that output line is at high voltage and when have the coin signal output,then will output the low level pulse.

7、How to select the coin acceptor ?

Coin acceptor include: Single coin coin acceptor, comparable type coin acceptor, multi-coin coin acceptor and coin validator with coin dispensor . Single coin coin acceptor ,normally that is specially designed to acceptor the specified coin ,so that would has the best precision and performance. Comparable type coin acceptor,that is used to accept the coins that is simillar with the coins put aside the coin acceptor. so that is easy to use and easy to change to accept different coins or even tokens. For multi-coin coin acceptor,that can acceptor different coins with one machine,and output different signal .

8、How to define the precison on prevention the fake coins? If have the coin acceptor “100%” prevent the fake coins>

Fake coins are always in the market,and that would be important to select a factory that can improve their quality and continue to improve their technology to reject the new fake coins.no any coin acceptor can reject all fake coins ,and some fake coin even the same as the true coins,so if reject the " fake" coins,that means that would also reject the similar ture coins.

9、What is the most important points of one coin acceptor ?

Performance to reject the fake coins and stability .

10、Comparable type coin acceptor:

Comparable type coin acceptor,that means there is a comparable sample coin,that was cliped along the coin acceptor,and use that parameters of the sample coin to comparable with the coins pass through the coin acceptor,if that parameters is the similar,then would accept the coin and output the pulse signal ,and if that is different,then would reject the coin..

Pull up the coil sensor and put the coin sample inside the coil sensor ,and then loose the col sensor,then would clip the coins。

Note:When you test the coin acceptor, you should make the coins can pass through the coin acceptor. don't put the coin acceptor on the table and inset the coins and then wait the pulse single.that is wrong test method. if the coin stay in the coin acceptor ,that coin acceptor will not give out the pulse.

11、If Wafer Kiosk control box can work together with any other coin acceptor ?

Normally,that would be better for our customers to select our EU1 or HI-09 coin acceptor, Because our kiosk system already tested fully with our coin acceptor with all parameters including Pulse width,working voltage,inhibit voltage level. Of couser if our customers want to use a better or more economical coin acceptor,that would be better to supply the samples to our company to test fully beofore the order.

12、What type of the interface of the bill acceptor and coin validator has on board normally ?

14、What is the input pulse signal interface for wafer timer control board ?

Wafer has several types of the timer control board, pulse type,RS232 type and MDB type interface. for the pulse type ,that would need the input device such as the card reader,coin acceptor,bill acceptor,that is Open-C NPN output. and when has the pulse ,that output signal should more than 20ms. and the lower voltage should lower than 0.3V.
